天板や脚部の全てをOSB合板で作成しています。
OSB合板はランダムサイズの木チップを接着剤で圧縮させて作った合板で、無指向性の特徴を持つ素材です。
ベンチの全てをOSB合板で作ることで奥行き感を消失させ、さらに天板の薄さに比べて脚部を必要以上に太く作ることで、全体のプロポーションバランスを崩す狙いがあります。
ベンチというフレームの輪郭をどこまで曖昧にできるかという実験的なドローイングです。
All tops and legs are made of OSB plywood.
OSB plywood is a plywood made by compressing random-sized wood chips with glue, and has the characteristic of being non-directional.
By making the entire bench out of OSB plywood, the sense of depth is lost, and by making the legs thicker than necessary compared to the thinness of the top panel, the aim is to disrupt the overall balance of proportions.
This drawing is an experiment to see how far the contours of the frame of the bench can be made ambiguous.
