あるアーティストの楽曲のために作られた木製のケース。新作の楽曲が入ったiPod nanoとビジュアルブックが収納される。無垢のナラ材で作られたものをガスバーナーで表面を焼成。完全に炭化した後にエポキシ樹脂で固めてウレタン塗装を施した。ボディの下部にはサンダーでランダムに刻みの加工をしている。火による反りの力が凄まじく、継ぎ目が完全に現れる。改めて木と炎の強さを思い知らされた。
また、炭化した部分は脆いはずなのに時が止まったかのような表情が面白い作品となった。
A wooden case made for an artist’s music. It holds an iPod nano with new music and a visual book. Made from solid oak wood, the surface was fired with a gas burner. After it was completely carbonized, it was hardened with epoxy resin and coated with urethane paint. The lower part of the body has been randomly chopped with a sander. The warping force from the fire is tremendous, and the seams appear perfectly. Once again, we were reminded of the strength of wood and fire.
In addition, the carbonized parts were supposed to be brittle, but the expression as if time had stopped was an interesting work of art.
